The 2013 Australasian Oaks is run over a distance of 2,000 metres and is open to three-year-old fillies only.

The Australasian Oaks shares its day with the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes, Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes, Group 3 DC McKay Stakes and Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes.

Her To Eternity appears locked in for a run in the race after trainer Murray Baker brought the filly over from New Zealand.

The Pentire filly has won two of her six race starts and has earned more than $15,000 in prize money.

Despite Baker’s hopes, the three-year-old failed to impress at her first Australian start in a $35,000 handicap at Sandown racecourse yesterday.

Her To Eternity finished sixth of eight runners in the race, leaving her 2013 Australasian Oaks plans up in the air.

Royal Descent is also nominated for the 2013 Australasian Oaks, which is also known as the Schweppes Oaks, after claiming the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes last weekend.

She will run in the Group 1 ATC Australian Oaks in Sydney this weekend, and if successful could back up once again in the 2013 Australasian Oaks the following Saturday.
