The 2011 Australasian Oaks is all set to take place this Saturday March 26, 2011, at Morphettville Racecourse and the final field and barrier draw for the race has now been announced.
The Group 1 Australasian Oaks will be run over 2,008 metres and is a $350,000 race open to three-year-old fillies only.
Peter Moody’s Lights Of Heaven is one of the 15 talented fillies that have accepted for the race.
Lights Of Heaven has won three from three race starts, including the Group 2 Fillies Classic on March 4, 2011.
The Zabeel filly will be hoping to impress ahead of the 2011 AJC Australian Oaks on April 16, 2011.
Lights Of Heaven will be ridden by jockey Luke Nolen in Saturday’s race and will jump from barrier six.
Another classy filly to feature in the 2011 Australasian Oaks is Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas’ Southern Speed.
After winning three of her five career starts, including the Group 3 Mittys Vanity, the Southern Image filly has proven that she is one to watch in horse racing.
Southern Speed has drawn barrier seven in the 2011 Australasian Oaks and will have jockey Clare Lindop on-board.
David Hayes’ Precious Lorraine and Danny O’Brien’s Placement are also amongst the 2011 Australasian Oaks final field.
